Lagoons Manchegas are scattered in the northeastern sector of the province of Ciudad Real and continue for the Toledo and Cuenca.

ROUTE

Following the route of wetlands we approached Villafranca de los Caballeros, which has one of the largest wetlands of ecological significance throughout the region Castilian-La Mancha, Wildlife Refuge and declared a Biosphere Reserve.

On the road from Villafranca de los Caballeros in Alcazar de San Juan is within walking distance to the Laguna de las Yeguas, in the end of the Alcázar. In this locality forms lagoons are in contact between the secondary and tertiary Neogene. These are gaps in Yeguas Villafranca and The Veguilla, these gaps can be observed an important Sapina vegetation and various animal species, including a gull nesting reidora colony.
